Literally within five minutes walk from our room, dotted around the coastline are many relics of the second world war. Everything you can imagine is here, either rotting on land or underwater. With the SS Coolidge only 30-60metres underwater just off the coast, the USS Tucker and many others within diving distance, there is a lot here for the WW2 relic lover. These images show just a couple of the land based wrecks that were along our stroll.
The second and third images show that these wrecks have just been standing around in the same position – probably since the day they were left. With large trees growing up between parts of the chassis, even changing the shape of the tree trunk – these have definitely been here for the long term.
